Each year, the Bainbridge Island Environmental Conference awards Environmentalist of the Year to a member of our community who has shown leadership in one or more areas of environmental sustainability or advocacy. The award began as a silver cup first awareded to Jerry and Elaine Hellmuth in 1984. Each winner’s name has subsequently been added to the cup and it lives with the awardee for that year. If you have photos or details of our past winners to add detail and dimension to this list, please reach out and let us know!
